We have 3 candidates who you can vote for when you come to vote on the library's budget on Thursday, September 4th anytime between 10 am - 8 pm.

For the remaining 2 seats, you may write in someone who you think would be interested in being on the board.
Yosefa Karchmar
I have had a lifelong passion for education and literacy, having spent 50+ years as a School Director. I spent decades nurturing children and instilling in them a love of reading. I understand deeply the vital role that libraries play in shaping young minds and supporting lifelong learning. For the past three years, I have proudly served as a Trustee on the Library Board, and I would be honored to continue contributing to its mission. I remain committed to helping our library achieve its goals and ensuring it remains a vibrant, welcoming resource for the entire community.
Kerry McQuaide

​I’m Kerry McQuaide, a children’s book author-illustrator and an avid supporter of reading and libraries. I was born in Rhinebeck and have lived in Saugerties for over twenty years. Since 2020, I have served as the Regional Advisor for the Eastern NY chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. And when I’m not writing and illustrating for kids, I’m probably battling weeds in my unruly garden, swimming, hiking, or reading.

Teresa Giordano
I’m grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to serve a one-year term on the Saugerties Library Board; it’s been a privilege to work with Board members and Library staff. ​I hope to continue my work as Trustee, continuing outreach into the Saugerties community and having input into policies and programs that are essential to the operation of the library. I’ve had a home in Saugerties since 2005 and have always been impressed with the library’s welcoming atmosphere and its evolving programs. I would be honored to remain a part of the library’s efforts to expand its programs and create even stronger ties to the community.
